Why rely on a map to help with your geography when you can use Google Earth? On that note, why use a PC to check Google Earth when you have a perfectly good Wii sitting right beside you? Yes, this is exactly what you’re thinking of. Developers Paul and Wagener have managed to create a program which allows you to view Google Earth on your Wii. Don’t believe how awesome it is? We have a video proving how well it works:

Version 2

Changes:

  • Removed Google images (captcha problem)
  • Added OpenStreetMap images
  • Way faster downloading of tiles
  • disappearing cursor problem fixed (since latest libogc was used)
  • Cool new icon (thanks Wilsoff)
  • Other cool stuff

Now, if we could get a GPS Tracking feature on the Wii, and live traffic updates…
