UPDATE: Seems as if the same people who leaked Waninkoko’s last project have managed to leak this one too. No names, and please do not disrespect that particular community, but after the last fiasco, I find it really disrespectful. So out of respect, please DO NOT POST LINKS TO THE LOADER!! Waninkoko has yet to respond on the issue.

Well, you can’t.

Not yet at least. Waninkoko has been making a lot of news this week, along with most of the Wii community. However, this has nothing to do with System menu 4.0. Instead, this is a completely new hack meant to revolutionize the current methods of backup loading!

Waninkoko’s premise is simple: instead of using the DVD Drive to run games, why not load all games to a USB Device, which you can attach to your Wii?

By this time, you are saying, “Prove it! Show me the Source!”. So what better way to demonstrate the application than the video straight from the horses mouth?

Not only that, but if you watch the video, near the end, it appears that Waninkoko rips a DVD straight to the USB device.

Now, the only information we have on this video (thus, itself being our Source) is contained within the video, so we have no idea of a timeframe for release. However, rest assured we will definitely keep you updated!

Only thing leaked so far is the USB Loader. NEW cIOS is required for the USB loader or else it wont work. Whoever leaked the loader is ruining for everyone, just let it be released appropriately by the author.

Very true. Just let waninkoko release it in full, he dose a great job and deserves respect for his projects (ex. them not being leaked). They really are just going to ruin it for the rest of us, just like the last time with his backup loader.

I totally agree with you guys, but….and i respect a lot Mr. Waninkoko….but lets see in the other way…. IF Mr. Waninkoko don’t want is stuff leaked…why does he put it online?… i am an author of music too and after puting online one of my musics…i can’t forbidd people from taking them from his pc memory too…
Piracy…works for the 2 sides…neither Nintendo likes we do this stuff…but WE make it….NEIther Waninkoko likes people using his stuff without permission…but…Does he HAVE reason to ASK that from us? :)

    I’m curious what file-system the USB-device has.
Fat32 only supports files smaller than 4GB.

As far as I know are all the non-homebrew games larger than 4GB

      urdoinitwrong!
fat 32 can have files larger than 4gb on it, but you cant transfer files that big onto it. but you CAN dump files that large on to it (like he did at the end of the video)

I was thinking the same thing. Ether he found a way to support NTFS or idk? Will just have to wait and see how this works, because it looks very promising.

Also I’m just wondering on how the game speeds will be using USB?

Oh noes! i won’t be able to use my ipod like i do for everything else :( unless i can find a way to format it to NTFS…. anyway it would still be worth buying a external HDD if i could load from usb. Downloading is the easy part, getting it onto a blank dvd and getting it to work is the hard part for me.

Nintendo might as well give up now. They are wasting their time.

THIS IS AWESOME!!! My dvd drive is busted so i was just waiting for this! But wouldnt i be good to be able to load games off a 4 or 8gb sd card since the wii now supports sdhc?

I was waiting for this too, but because I hate carrying disk behind my tv to put them in my Wii.

Anyone thought of the fact that this might just be an April Fools Day joke?

  9. Mike on 29.03.2009 at 22:39 (Reply)

why would you even need the drive to be ntfs… its most likely it will be its own file system with a partition for each game, and to put game son it you can rip them of fthe disc using a wii or maybe in the future even a program to throw isos onto the hdd over lan or for when the hdd is connected to the pc. Thats how it was with the ps2 hdloader and xbox hd loader neways

    1. Kamanashi on 30.03.2009 at 13:53 (Reply)

I doubt it is since Bushing made his own one, but he refuses to release it to stop piracy.

  10. Darkzero on 30.03.2009 at 13:19 (Reply)

It’s most certainly not going to be it’s own file system, nor NTFS.

Did you see how fast he copied the game from disk? It strips out the buffer files (that’s over 3gb for some games).

And if worse comes to worse, you probably can split the game files like the PS2 could.

hey in the video he shows the SD card from the wii menu with games on ? how ???

Good stuff, this way i can backup ll my wii games and load them much faster from a usb device.this hack is gonna open up th wii scene, the only thing some1 needs now is to come out with something like the xbox1 has (XBMC).An all in one program that can play any music file and video file, and also load your back-up games from a hardrive. Now that will be the shiznit.
