Well known Wii hacker, Waninkoko has released a cIOS downgrader and a few more tools to go along with it. Thanks for the hard work Waninkoko!

2008/07/27 – Custom IOS37 rev 03 released! Also a new Uninstaller and a Firmware Downgrader have been released. No DVD exploit.

Custom IOS Uninstaller v1.1

- This application allows you to uninstall any Custom IOS installed
in your Wii console.

Custom IOS Downgrader v1.0

- This application allows you to downgrade your Wii firmware to any
available version.

[ REQUISITES ]:

- Custom IOS37 rev 03 or higher.
- Internet connection.

Custom IOS37 rev 03

- This is a Custom IOS, an IOS modified to add some new features
not available in the official IOS.

This IOS has been made to be used ONLY with homebrew software.

The Custom IOS installs as IOS249 and it does not modify any other
IOS so it is secure to install.

[ REQUISITES ]:

- “IOS37-64-v2070.wad” original WAD file.

[CHANGELOG]

- ES_AddTicketStart() title version check removed.
- ES_DeleteTicket() and ES_DeleteTitle() now can delete system titles.
- ES_SetUID() check removed.

    What does the CIOS allow me to do that is different from a normal IOS? what features are there?

    If your familure with PSP hacking, this is basicly a ‘downgrader’ application, which was around before the Pandora phoneomon. Very useful, but still please accept that fact that this is ‘at your own risk’ It sure works, but dont be foolsih and turn off the Wii when in the middle of downgrading…unless you like a big white brick.

    I no what the downgrader does i just want to know what the Custom IOS has that is better than a normal IOS.

    well what the cIOS actually does is basically unlock more of the wii’s potential, so to speak… see with the cIOS that was first released, came a genesis emulator that could read from a dvd in an unmodded wii… this is a huge step in the homebrew(and unfortunately piracy as well) scene.

    Wrong. You still needed a modded wii – just the DVD’s could then be unencrypted.

    you need to use the twilight hack to download it you really need it because it wont work with the hbc
