Before I carry on THERE IS NO CFW AND THERE IS NO KNOWN RELEASE DATE FOR ANY KIND OF CFW so don't go asking where you can download it from, this is only a theory.
Once CFW is developed I think this is the most probable way it will be installed.
You will need to link your PC and Wii together (either by wifi or ethernet cable) so that the Wii thinks that is connected to the net.
You will run a program on the PC that will send a signal to the Wii tricking it into thinking that there is an update to download.
On your wii you will go through the update process as normal.
After you have downloaded it will install as normal.
You can now enjoy the full glory of CFW ![]()
Its actually quite simple but the only problem is NO CFW!
Problems that may/may not arise.
The big N will be able to detect CFW and do nasty thing like:
Not let you use the Wii untill you update to standard FW
Not let you download from the shop.
Destroy save games????
Can't think of ahy more but you get the picture
Remember CFW isn't out yet so fingers crossed that it comes to a Wii near you SOON.

Where can I get CFW. Just kidding.
Wii's that have been chipped could do a disc install.

I think it will happen through WAD, just a thought. Or a Devhook like thing will come out in WAD format.

The homebrew channel was able to be booted then installed on a disc. So its possible that a CFW could be done the same way also, but then again you would need a way to boot burned discs. There is also GCOS which could help the process.

Hooking up the Wii to PC would be the best option.
Why is this the best option you ask? Here is a list
1. No need for an SD Card.
2. No need for Zelda.
3. Not everybody is willing to place a chip inside their Wii.
4. No need to rebuild a disc with the required update and then burn.
5. Most people have PC/Laptop at home.
6. A lot of people have routers which means they have an ethernet cable.
7. Most Wii updates are downloaded off the net (which is easier to exploit).
Can't think of any more right now but hey I think you's get the idea, there are more pro's than con's.

Do something like the PSP CFW updater and bypass the Sony Updater and redirect it to a private updater is what you are saying.

Well, why wouldn't this work through Wifi? I see where you're going, but there are many ways it could come.
My guess is a .elf that will be launched from the Homebrew Channel. Kind of like the EBOOT that installs PSP CFW

You've got this wrong (though no entirly), the new way is through pandora's battery which causes the PSP to boot into recovery mode and reloads the firmware it finds on the memory stick, the eboot method is the old way.
Is there a recovery mode on the Wii? Could be done this way and a possible way to repair a full brick.

My point being that there is no "battery" for the Wii.
IMO: This would be the easiest way of installing CFW on the Wii. Seems much easier to download a file and run it.
Point being: There is no way we will know until we get there
