I installed the D2Pro9 v2 Wii-Clip modchip for my brother's Wii, the last update disc I installed for him was version 1.4, I see that there is the new 1.7 version(blocks updates from other regions) available, should I update from 1.4 to 1.7? also, I don't remember what firmware version it is using now, is there anyway that I can check for the version? he has not had any issues or problems since I installed the Wii-Clip for him, should I update the firmware as well? thanks

you can choose to update and you can choose not to. Its just a configuration disc. Its not really a firmware update.

so it doesn't matter what firmware version should be used along with v1.7 update? I know Wiikey 1.9s firmware should be used with v1.4 disc

Bnm it's best to install this update for your D2Pro, it reduces the chance of you bricking your Wii by accidentally installing an update from a region other than your own.

Hi KinG_Td
If the update is only a configuration disc how can it add the update blocker it the modchip or is it just added to the SPI flash on the mod chip.
Kind Regards

I believe its just a code that runs on the chip (which should already exist but recently uncovered). D2Pro team already stated that the D2Pro9 is unable to update the firmware via DVD, and ONLY with a programmer. Thats probably why every other chip released their updates because of the code being uncovered
