As a (mainly) unemployed student, I've finally got enough money for my own computer. What do you guys think?

Im definatly not a gamer, so I won't need the power. It's actually a pretty damn good machine for the price, and I need my own. I'll be on the site more often.

I haven't got it yet because it's currently out of stock. I called the store and they said they should have them in Thursday morning.

What d'ya think?

thats not bad of a laptop really for the price, you get nice stuff on it but im sure the battery life on it sucks as its only 6-cell

what is the size of it cauz i found one laptop at alkhubar near ksa smaller than it and 15 cm or smaller my cousin bought one for his doughter it had a camera 3.4 megapixel and the battery life was 5 hours and the charge was like the size of the psp charge and the specifications where the same as your laptop just for 350 dollars

the dimensions you are lucky to be in the us cauz the laptops come from there and do you know the new iphone 3g how much it costs in my country almost 2000 dollars but i bought it

Well, I got a different model than I was originally looking at, but it is faster, and for the same price! Once I get it set-up, Ill give you some specs

Sony is more overpriced than Apple for what you get...

I now have my very own computer! I have a bit of a story with that so Ill tell it first:

I originally saw a model I really liked for $599 @ BestBuy. I wanted to buy my computer from a smaller shop (Canada Computers) but this was actually a pretty good deal. So after not having them in stock for a week, they finally get some in Thursday night. I go to the store Friday morning and ask for one. 2 things:

1) They only have open box (USED!!!) items
2) The price was $799

Apparently the $599 deal was a back to school special and we were one day late. So my Dad (who probably wanted a Laptop as much as I do) gave the manager a nice talking to until he gave us my current laptop for $599!!! Okay, it was on sale this week for $650, but it's regularfly $800!

Im just happy to have my own computer. I can finally store all of my music, leave my accounts to auto-login, and actually being able to use a computer without people kicking me off...

So anyways, Im happy! What do you guys think I should do with my own Laptop? Im planning on trying to Dual-Boot OS X...

i used to know how to build one before 5 years but i have forgot how to make it i think you should go to the pc configuration the one that say from the beginning when you open it press f12 and then other stuff to do i just forgot:(

TBH, I could build a PC easily. However, for school and portability reasons, I wanted a Laptop. It's pretty damn hard to make your own laptop though. If I had the parts I probably could, but then you'd have to buy a case/screen, and make sure all of the parts fit within the case, and on top of that, you have to make sure it runs cool.

For Laptops, I think it's just better to buy one from a manufacturer. If I wanted a desktop, I'd definatly build my own

I think you mean access the BIOS settings. I can configure my computer fine though. I use it for more than just checking my mail
