Use recommended brands when burning your Wii Backups. Some Wii drives will be pickier than others, one media will work for 1 Wii and might not for the other. Speed, Burner, and Media is usually the culprits of coaster backups. So save yourself some time and some money by getting it right the first time. Bad media will eventually ruin the lens on your DVD drive due to the lens working hard to read it. There should barely be a difference in -R and +R. -R should work better for the Wii but if you cant find it, +R shouldnt be an issue

KinG would you not be better making a pole for this?

Offline
no because i do not know of all the brands, and making a poll will only have noobs come here and ask which brands they should use. This is only informative for people as these brands are verified to work
Offline
Thats true.

Offline
a poll would kinda show what people prefer to use or not use.

i have cyclowiz v2 and with it I had no issues with TDK discs both + and -. Actually almost all of my wife's back ups are tdk discs lol.

How bad is it really to use the Maxell DVD-R/DVD+R's on your wii? Because i have been using them for awhile and they seem to run just fine. Will it ruin the DVD drive? I hope not, i don't feel like re-(*GETTING) my wii games and burning them to DVD again.
Offline
from my experience, it takes a little harder for the Wii to read the games... which could cause the life of the lens to decrease

KinG may be a good idea to sticky this thread, Plus should this not be in help section? It's not really a tut. Cheers

I have beening using Taiyo Yuden with no issuses they are good and burn at x12.
Also i use Ritek G05 and not had a issuse with them yet.
Dual layer i find better to burn slow and use data write, Aone and Elite all the same dye.

You can get 50 Verbatims around the sameprice as Tesco disc,s but I can confirm the british brand made by Tesco work but i've only ever burned one disk.
