Re: Wii Homebrew

Fair enough. If you want to make your list more complete by using some of those, it might be a good idea

Re: Wii Homebrew

I know a SD card is required for installing the apps along with the new homebrew channel, I was wondering what kind of SD card fits the Wii? I see that there are many different types, standard SD, micro SD, mini SD, also what should be a good GB to get as well, should I get 1 for the VC games and 1 for the homebrew apps? I was thinking a 2GB was enough for both the apps and the VC games? thanks

Re: Wii Homebrew

microsd

standard SD
http://www.sz-wholesale.com/uploadFiles/060310162215s.jpg

miniSD
http://sky2k.com/shop/images/minisd.jpg

both miniSD and microSD will work on the wii if you have the adapter for it.

as for your other questions, you can use it for both and i would get a 2gb at least. 4gb if you want more games later on

I might get around to it, but I'm never modded before.  I only do the homebrew stuff.  I got into the scene because I'm good with software, but we will see!

We have it as a .elf, and you can install a ROM for it with an emulator. No massive loss

I saw on the Wii support website, that SD cards higher than 2GB will not work, is this true?

Re: Wii Homebrew

depends on if the slot can contain SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity). One would think it should but who knows. Anyone here have a 4gb to confirm? or else ill search for the answer

does it matter in terms of brands? is one brand better than another one like Sandisk is very good, Patriot, I have no idea about, are all SD cards the same?

Patriot is a good brand. I bought this. SD cards are all the same.

i tend to disagree, try buying a few fake ones or even compare the sandisk to lexar's. The speed is the big difference, not to mention the i/o ratio too
