Can I run Wii backups without hardmodding my Wii yet?

I have to buy a replacement Wii, but I do not feel like hardmodding the new one. Can I run backups without actually installing a chip yet?

Re: Can I run Wii backups without hardmodding my Wii yet?

nope. Hardmodding is the only way to play backups. Its very easy now as you can use a Wii-Clip to clip onto the drive, no soldering required on most drives
