Alright guys I know some of you out there are wanting to know how to downgrade your Wii or are frustrated on how to do it. It is actually fairly easy just follow this tutorial and you should be good. (Sorry for the large pics)
I will be using my Wii NTSC-U 3.3FW for example to downgrade to 2.0U.
Things you need:
1x Wii
1x SD card
Wifi or Internet Connection on the Wii
IOS37-64-v2070.wad (dont ask where to get it)
Homebrew Channel
Custom IOS 37 rev 03 or higher
Custom IOS Downgrader v1.0
NOTE: SKIP Steps 2 and 3 if you have cIOS Rev3 already installed
1. Load up the Homebrew Channel. If its not installed there are tuts here that tell you how to install it.
2. Select Custom IOS Installer Rev3 (If not installed)
This screen should come up if you are doing things right..
Let it install.. and if successful it will look like this..
3. The Wii will go back to the Wii XMB so reload the Homebrew Channel
4. Select the Downgrader 1.0
5. When the Menu comes up you can select which Firmware you want. From 2.0 to 3.3

6. After selecting the fw you want it will ask if you are sure.. Press A to continue.
7. Let it install the FW, it will have to download and install it. If done right it will look like this.
After you finish the install press the Home Button to exit the Downgrader.
8. After you finish the Wii will reset, the Health Warning message should come up. Press A to continue. The screen will stay black for a few seconds and thats because the Wii has to organize the files and recognize the settings of the older firmware. I installed 2.0U so this is what it looks like.
notice there is no digital clock.
And there you have it.
If you are at an early FW version and wish to upgrade, you can use this to upgrade as it works both ways, upgrade and downgrade.
I did all of this got to 2.0U and went back to 3.3U. No problems.
NOTE: SKIP Steps 2 and 3 if you have cIOS Rev3 already installed

http://www.nes-hacks.com/downloads/wii- … d-loaders/
its the ones that are under Waninkoko apps
you will need to look for IOS37-64-v2070.wad on your own since its illegal to distribute that file..
please dont ask us how to get that file

thanks for the tutorial but i have 2 questions...
1. for the downgrader , can i use lan adapter instead of Wi-Fi ???
2. does custom IOS 37 rev 3 installer work with 3.3 ???
Offline
1. Connect to the net which ever way you you want
2. Downgrader works on all FW

Offline
so you only do custom IOS 37 rev 3 installer only once and you don't have to use it again on like region changer???
Offline
Dude custom IOS lets you use Waninkoko's apps, once it's installed on your Wii leave it installed. Use the latest revision http://www.nes-hacks.com/wp-content/upl … taller.zip if you folow krazywhiteguy's tutorials correctlly you will not have a problem
Now the next thing I expect to hear from you is........ "I installed CIOS36 rev 6 and changed my region and/or downgraded my Wii" ![]()

I tried installing Custom IOS 37 rev 03, but it didn't work. At the point it was trying to install IOS37-64-v2070.wad, it gave me an error (ret = -2011) that it could not install it. By the way I have Firmware 3.3E from October. Can anyone please help me?

try installing CIOS 37 rev 06 and make sure you have everything that you need in the right place.

I can't find any update higher than CIOS 37 rev 03. I also tried Custom IOS36 rev06 (recently released), but then it also couldn't read IOS37-64-v2070.wad, gaving me the error (ret = -1) this time. So now what? Where can I find CIOS 37 rev 06 by the way?

Do you have IOS37-64-v2070 installed on the root of your SD card? I think this may be your problem
