That problem with 3,5 GB Ram does not bother dual channel i think...

You're right WinXP can only assign 3,5 GB space of your Ram. regardless of that the Mainboard connects to you ram per dual-channel. So you got "only" 3,5 GB (when you got 4 x 1GB or 2x 2GB of the same type) but still your full speed...

So 4x identic 1GB Ram will give u full speed but (bcuz of 32Bit) not full space..
