Your objective is to clear each stage by lining up up at least three matching gems in the grid. You can swap two adjacent tiles at a time, with the level clearing when the background grid turns gold. mcartman notes that this release isn’t copmplete yet, and that only five stages are currently available for play. There is a level editor, though, so you’ll at least have the privilege of creating your own challenges.

Of course, seeing as this is the first release of OpenTyrian on the Wii, there are a few bugs that still need to be resolved. One of these is pretty much the lack of WiFi multiplayer. Another is that there is currently no support for USB keyboards, or the Classic Controller. There’s also some issues with monitors with 480p resolution, so you might want to try on different TV sets as you play to get the best results.

In case you’ve forgotten how Simon is played, let us refresh your memory: it’s basically a circular toy with four buttons in corresponding colors: red, green, yellow and blue. It’s the player’s task to memorize the flashing colors and press the buttons in the correct order, according to the series of colors. It’s certainly one of the few well-made memory games created by the homebrew community.

Wii Tetris keeps the torch of the tetris tradition burning so expect the gameplay and the controls to be the same as when the game started in 1985. Homebrew coder DesktopMan added some sweeteners though. Bonus lines are awarded for scoring three to four consecutive lines. Also available are options for speed and number of lines.

Tic Tac Toe

Wii-Tac-Toe is a game for the Nintendo Wii. It was programmed in C++ using devkitPro along with GRRLIB. The game can be played alone vs the CPU or with a friend using one Wiimote. The game AI does not always do the same moves, so the fun never stop. To win the game, you have to place three marks (O or X) in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row. If the grid is filled completely and no one has won, well, it’s a tie game. Start over and try to beat your opponent.
