Who has a disco ball in their living room? Now, who wants a disco ball in their living room? Whether you’re stuck in the 70’s or not, WiiStrobe will get the funk on wherever you set it. The simple strobe light can be used for whatever you set it too. Although there are two precautions we must warn you about:
Some people have medical conditions (such as epilepsy) which can be triggered by flashing lights. Please please please do not use this if you know yourself to be suffering from such a condition or are unsure. Please also check with anyone else in the room with you. I cannot be held responsible.
Whilst I doubt this would cause any screen burn on TV sets prone to such deterioration, I am uneducated upon the subject and would appreciate the input of someone who is better informed than I am.
SDHC sure seems to be the hot button today. Waninkoko updated his popular WAD Manager to version v1.3, offering some changes that will help you more than it’s previous versions.
 [ DESCRIPTION ]:
- WAD Manager is an application that allows you to (un)install
  WAD packages.
** It lists all the available WAD packages in a storage device
so you can select which ones to (un)install.
Â
[ SUPPORTED DEVICES ]:
- SDGecko.
- Internal SD slot (with SDHC support).
- USB device.
Â
[ HOW TO USE ]:
1. Create a folder called “wad” in the root of the storage device.
2. Copy all the WAD packages in the folder created in the step 1.
3. Run the application with any method to load homebrew.
Â
[ NOTES ]:
If a Custom IOS is detected, WAD Manager will load it automatically to
take advantage of its benefits.
SDHC and better use of a Custom IOS? Best way to get your WADs installed!
Our second version comes from DCelso and Quality, which has been codenamed MOD R1. This version supports sequential playback and random playback. No SDHC support is implemented, but rumour has it that it is prioritized for the next release, MOD R2:
As always, these two versions are not official. While they will not permanently damage, the coders for the official MPlayerWii will not provide support for these versions. I guess the approproate warning is: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
A new coder known as christian.remboldt has stepped up to the scene with his own cheat manager for use with Ocarina. It uses WiiRD codes saved to a .txt file, but I think christian can explain it best:
Wiicm is a native wii cheat code manager, for use with WiiRd codes and
the GeckoOS\Ocarina code handler. Save the complete txt cheat file for
each game to /txtcodes/ directory on root of SD card. Run wiicm and it
will allow you to choose which codes to activate or skip and create a
new/updated gct file in /codes/ directory on root of SD card.
Using the pc based code manager can be inconvenient if you like to use
codes one at a time or if you take your wii to a friends house. Now
just save the txt cheat code data to you SD card once. Wiicm provides
full management capabilities, without ever removing the SD card or
saving or uploading any new files
This is my first wii program and my first time writing C code. Wiicm
is text based and not flashy but does have wiimote support for ease of
use. Wiicm employs blank lines/carriage returns to parse the data file
so formating is important. Most cheat codes txt files on the WiiRd
Code Database at usbgecko.com already work with wiicm.
Let’s hope we can see this become even more advanced in the future!
The CodeMii team took the weekend to improve on their popular application, The Homebrew Browser. For those in the dark, the Homebrew Browser pulls up a list of applications and lets you download and install them natively… on your Wii, from your Wii!
Some useful features have been added for this new version:
* Able to view currently installed applications
* Fixed bug in downloading and removing applications which affected uno and may have affected other applications
* Retries increased to 10 times with a longer pause in-between
* Able to reboot the Wii by holding B and pressing Home
* Detects if you have a .elf version of any application and lets you update that application
* Now uses zip files which means download sizes are reduced (thanks Tantric)
* Added SDHC support
* Detects if HBB icon or meta file exist, if they dont then it downloads them
DCelso has modified the code for the N64 emulator to introduce support for the WiiMote and Nunchuk. The emulator itself has been repackaged as a .dol file to better suit the new HomeBrew Channel.
We are not sure of any other improvements that may have been made to the emulator because no changelog or readme is released with this file. Either way, feel free to download it and check it out.
We love our classic and this is another for Wii homebrew. Kick it oldschool with Missile Command v0.6a and spend hours parrying those missiles with your own.
The only change from the previous version would be that the boot.dol was converted to boot.elf for compatibility with Homebrew Channel beta9. Enjoy
version 1.1
- added wiimote support, now you can zoom anywhere you woint with just pointing your wiimote.
- added a console on the top of the screen showing some basic info
If you’re not using the Homebrew Channel to launch all of your applications, the Wii Homebrew Launcher is the next best thing. Completely skinable and now with Wiimote support, it offers some features that aren’t found in the Homebrew Channel:
- The function Restart Loader ‘lowered the chain loader mode but not
not work yet with all the homebrew.
- The transition from command line argument is fully functional and
is used in the loading of all homebrew (argc and argv).
- Ability to load homebrew from a server SMB (Windows Sharing).
- Ability to load homebrew from a USB device.
- Ability to load homebrew from a DVD-R (ISO9660/Joliet).
- Update libogc (20080920).
- Added detection of my way which is launching Wii Homebrew Launcher
(since TP hack or from an array) and enables features
adequate (1 single version. fraud instead of a version for string and 1
version for the hack TP).

As always, Google Translate will butcher the translations, but what we do know is that you can now load Homebrew from a USB device, or from a DVD-R with the use of DVDx. All of the documentation is included in the download.
