EZ team and Acekard team demonstrated the firmware that can load flashcarts in NDSi in system software v.1.4 , and released the acutal firmware today

EZ has just made a note for the users using EZ flashcarts

This is not the first EZ5i update but it is potentially one of the more important. It allows the EZ5i to work under a DSi using the 1.4 firmware but doing so presently requires that the cart use a proper icon and text from a game. Updating is as simple as running the ez5firmwreUP_V12.nds from the root of the EZ5i, naturally this requires something that works with the DSi like a DS, DS lite or DSi with firmware lower than 1.4, the whole procedure takes about 30 seconds although we do suggest that you charge your device and preferably power it from the wall as well. A check was also added so you can no longer downgrade to an earlier firmware and brick your EZ5i (it should just hang if you try). This is just the internal loader so you can continue using any kernel that works with the EZ5i.

Acutally two companies have been working so hard for the new firmware and we enjoy the results of having a new firmware today:)

A quick update goes out to all CycloDS owners. The CycloDS team has released a small update for their popular DS Flashcart:

- v1.53 (11/1/2009)

* Linking between NDS and GBA pokemon games via EZ3in1 NOR supported
* Game compatibility fixes (2746, 3191)

There you have it! When CycloDS says quick update, one can expect to recieve a quick update.

Something else worth mentioning though is that some users have reported problems with this firmware. Some people can not make this firmware boot, other expereince incredibly long loading times, among many crashes. However, the majority of users do not seem to have a problem, and it is safe. This update has not (and can not) bricked any DS systems.

The CycloDS team released an update to their popular Evolution Flashcart. The team seemed happy to be able to push out their release, and encourage owners of the flaschart to update.

Changes in this release include:

• Added the in-game text reader feature
• Battery saver mode added
• An alternative folder layout for game saves and RTS files is now supported
• Configurable rumble strength though settings menu
• Fixes to the cheat code engine
• GBA support dramatically improved and moved out of BETA. Saving problems should now be resolved and the 1MBit save type is now supported without the need to manually patch games
• Classic NES Series GBA games are now supported
• Added “cycle skin” feature which is similar to the random skin feature, except that skins are cycled in order and are not chosen at random
• Game compatibility fixes (2906, 2949, 2436, 2472)
• Various other bug fixes and improvements

How to use

The upgrade process is simple and painless. Just follow these easy steps:

 1. Place the “update.evo” file in the root directory of your MicroSD.
 2. Insert the MicroSD back into the CycloDS Evolution.
 3. Insert the CycloDS Evolution into your Nintendo DS.
 4. Power on the Nintendo DS and start CycloDS Evolution as you would normally.
 5. The update will be launched automatically. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Once the update has completed the “update.evo” file will be removed from your
MicroSD, so you do not need to remove it manually.
